Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Medical-X, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the development of high-fidelity medical simulators that combine advanced technology with human-like functionality and appearance. Leveraging your expertise in a wide range of programming languages including C++, Python, and JavaScript, as well as shell scripting skills, you will be responsible for enhancing the software’s features, usability, and reliability. Additionally, your ability to work with hardware components and interfaces will be essential in integrating software solutions with medical simulation hardware.

Role and responsibilities:

• Feature Enhancement: Continuously enhance the software by implementing new features, adding value, and improving functionality to meet the evolving needs of medical simulation training.
• Bug Resolution: Proactively address newly identified bugs and long-standing issues, ensuring the software’s reliability and enhancing user satisfaction. Utilize your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges effectively.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients globally, offering assistance with technical issues, inquiries, and software-related queries. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in assisting clients and ensuring a positive user experience.
• Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop strategic plans and roadmaps for the evolution of medical simulation technology, identifying key areas for innovation and driving the execution of strategic initiatives to achieve ambitious goals and objectives.
• Collaborative Research and Development: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including researchers and hardware engineers to explore new technologies and methodologies, conduct cutting-edge research, and translate research findings into innovative software solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar.

Preferred skills

• Proficiency in C++, Python, JavaScript, and shell scripting.
• Experience in developing web applications and familiarity with frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach to technical support.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating innovation and adaptability.
• Prior experience or knowledge in healthcare, medical simulation training, or related fields is highly preferred.
• Understanding of medical terminology, processes, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Experience working with hardware components and interfaces, such as sensors, actuators, and medical devices, is desirable.
